This lovely lady was actually my husband's client first! He helped her find this condo when she was starting a new chapter post-divorce and preparing to live on her own for the first time in over 30 years. While the condo wasn’t initially her style, she was thrilled by the location, spacious layout, and high ceilings. She then enlisted me to bring her dream space to life. Together, we established a budget and wish list, refined renderings until we achieved her perfect vision, and I sourced materials, provided samples, and managed the project to ensure everything came together seamlessly, creating a cohesive, inspiring, and move-in ready home.

Before - The are lots of dated cut-outs and the corner of this island is a bumped hip waiting to happen.

Before - This condo was only 16 years old but did not have any aesthetic upgrades. No wow factor or personality.

Before - The rounded island countertop takes up far too much space and makes it impossible to fit a dining table anywhere.
Before - More sad builder-grade materials but the WORST is the tiled countertop! SO hard to clean!

Rendering - Small fresh updates make a huge difference!

Rendering - Our vision for the space was a blend of contemporary and mid-century modern styles. However, due to the client's budget, we chose to paint the kitchen and bathroom cabinets to set the tone for the entire condo. For the kitchen, we chose BM Knoxville Grey, a rich, muted teal that added depth and character. In the bathroom, we selected BM Kendall Charcoal, a warm, deep neutral.

Rendering - We played around with background tiles and a newly added wine storage/desk area in the nook between the kitchen and living area.
Rendering - Once we found the perfect backsplash tile, we popped it into the rendering to make sure we loved it and spoiler alert... we did!

Rendering - Again we played with the configuration of the nook and made sure the matte charcoal cabinets and walnut built-ins vibed with the black limestone herringbone tile we chose for the fireplace surround.
After - We ripped the basic mirror off the wall and replaced it with 2 wood and metal beauties from west elm. Shelves were added for storage, new brass and black sconces bring color to the space and the new sleek faucets and undermount sinks add stylish functionality.
After - The cabinets were in good shape and after they were touched up and repainted, we added chunky matte black hardware for a fun pop.

After - What a MASSIVE improvement! Now there's room for a long dining room table.

After - The large pendants and waterfall edge really make the perfect mod statement.

After - I can't get over how gorgeous these countertops are! We kept the surrounding countertop a simple white quartz so the focus would remain on the veined quartz island and the bold backsplash.

After - Crazy in love with this entire aesthetic!

After - In lieu of the standard stainless steel sink, we opted for this stain and scratch resistant antimicrobial composite sink to blend in with the countertop.

After - With a mix of textured porcelain, natural marble and a chic, new pattern, this DalTile backsplash mosaic sets the perfect mood.

After - Filling in the dated square TV cutout allowed for a custom piece of artwork in any size. By switching out the basic tile and adding a wood mantle, the living room now blends seamlessly with the rest of the condo.
