This wonderful client, originally from Australia, loved the charm of the logs in her cabin but felt that the abundance of wood was overwhelming and didn’t quite capture her bold, eclectic style. She enlisted my help to find a balance between the rustic and the modern, breathing new life into her cozy cabin. The one element she was certain about was teal cabinets, and for everything else, we allowed inspiration to strike as we explored various showrooms throughout the Denver area. We could not be prouder of this renovation!

Before - It's clear that this kitchen lacks personality and light.

Before - Cute Cara pup had to photobomb this pic!

Before - This kitchen DESPARATELY needs function, storage and more prep space.

Before - The door you see is to a guest bedroom. However, this is also used as the powder room and does not need 2 separate entrances. Also, the addition of a 2nd sink in place of the small linen closet would add more value to such a small bath.

Before - The tub and shower door were awfully dated and the plumbing came out of the drywall instead of the tile, which SHOULD have gone all the way up to the ceiling.

Before - The water closet nook was wasted with no shelves or storage.

Rendering - Our initial vision included her beloved teal cabinets and a colorful bold backsplash.

Rendering - To keep the space from feeling too closed off and bulky, we kept the window and added a mix of closed cabinetry, glass doors and open shelving.

Rendering - We were able to extend out the far-left cabinet to add another 15" of storage, counterspace and a stool on the other side.

Rendering - Our initial color scheme was to stay in the green family but add a fun floor tile and terracotta accent tiles to the shower.

Rendering - The addition of the shelves above the toilet really help add much needed storage.

Rendering - Her initial wishlist item was to find a gorgeous, thrifted dresser that we could turn into a vanity.

Sourcing - Having fun browsing through all the colorful tiles in the Design District.

Sourcing - Greens and patterns and clay... Oh my!

Rendering - The updated rendering switched the hardware from nickel to brass.

Rendering - The updated rendering played around with more vibrant colors that added personality to the kitchen! We also switched out the builder grade porcelain tile floor for a warmer and more durable waterproof vinyl floor tile.

Rendering - Our updated bathroom rendering switched out the terracotta for dark green and white marble accents instead of the rust tones.

Rendering - We liked the idea of a darker wood vanity rather than a painted one.

After - The final result!! Those durable concrete looking quartz counters are so chic!

After - Everything has tied together so beautifully!

After - This gorgeous piece was sourced from Rare Finds (a fantastic store full of reclaimed and new furniture.)

After - Absolutely OBSESSED with the final result!! The green tile was porcelain and a budget friendly price. The marble was special and a splurge but makes quite an impact!
